Friendor Friday: Henry Hill Videography

Today was my very first episode of Friendor Friday, a new series I am starting all about the industry pros I am lucky enough to call some of my best friends. Starting it off with a fave who has been there with me since the beginning of Knotted - Henry Hill.

In the excitement of creating the first installation of this series I skipped over the most important thing I wanted to cover -

Why is hiring a videographer an absolute MUST?

Henry’s response really captures what I try to explain to all of my couples when trying to decide whether or not they should hire a videographer,

A couple's wedding day is one of the most highly anticipated, emotional, fun, and beautiful days of their life. It is the starting point of two people making the biggest commitment they will ever make. Vows are spoken, friends and family give testimonies on why they are such amazing people and what they have meant in their lives, and happy tears are almost always shed. Because of this, it should 100 percent be video and audio captured. Hearing the vulnerability in your partner reading their vows and commitments, watching each other cry and laugh, and watching your oldest friends and family dance and celebrate your life and partnership is truly worth more than you could ever imagine. What is the reason for having a professional cinematic video over having a family member video with their cell phone? Because professional cinema heightens the viewing experience. Think about movies or TV shows that really catch your emotions. This happens because of not only the emotions and story being told, but also by the music being played, the camera movement and angles, the clarity and color grading of the footage, the different depths of field to capture that emotion and setting, and the clear audio coming from the people speaking. This cinematic experience can be captured at your wedding, and you can have this heightened sense of emotion towards your husband or wife everytime you watch your video. The value of the cinematic experience of watching your wedding day is greater than you realize, and it brings such a fun and amazing way to relive your wedding day.

If you’re looking for a videographer who won’t miss the little moments, can work well with any photographer as a team and will provide you with a wedding video you will rewatch over and over - look no further.
